Wyoming native Ian Munsick returned to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Aug. 25 for his second headlining performance at the iconic Colorado venue, celebrating the release of his fourth studio album, The Mountain Goat.
The night opened with Night Hawk Juniors, drummers from The Crow Tribe, alongside Crow dancers Jacoby Little Light and Azaylea Dust. The performance marked another special moment in Munsick’s relationship with the tribe, which officially adopted him during his sold-out 2024 Red Rocks debut.
Munsick and his Rocky Mountain Fever band delivered a set spanning The Mountain Goat and fan favorites from White Buffalo, including “White Buffalo,” “Long Live Cowgirls,” “Barn Burner,” “More Than Me” and “Long Haul.” New songs including “Earn Your Spurs,” “Palomino Eyes,” “Medicine Man” and “Geronimo” also made the setlist.

Ryan Charles, aka Jiggy Buckaroo, joined Munsick for their viral collaboration “Cowboy Killer,” with Munsick’s six-year-old son, Crawford James, making a surprise appearance for the song’s signature Belt Buckle Shuffle. The evening also featured a tribute to the late Dolly Parton, with Munsick performing an outro to “I Will Always Love You,” before dedicating “Long Haul” to his parents, Dave and Trudy. For the encore, Munsick brought his father, Dave Munsick, onstage to perform “Horses Are Faster,” with Dave playing the original fiddle used on the recording. Munsick closed the night with “I See Country.” The Mountain Goat is available everywhere now, while Munsick continues The Road to The Mountain Goat with upcoming appearances at the Colorado State Fair, New Mexico State Fair and Deadwood Jam.
