The GRAMMY-winning country group’s new project features collaborations with Kelsea Ballerini, Jason Isbell and Ashley Monroe! Little Big Town is celebrating more than 25 years of musical chemistry with the release of It’s A Dying Art, the multi-platinum GRAMMY-winning group’s 12th studio album, out Aug. 28 via MCA Nashville.
Produced by two-time GRAMMY winner Gena Johnson and Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, It’s A Dying Art leans into intimate storytelling, emotional balladry and the imperfect beauty of human-made music. The 12-song set also finds Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook joined by longtime friends and collaborators, including Kelsea Ballerini on “Closing Time,” Jason Isbell on “The Door” and Ashley Monroe on “Sucker For A Sad Song.”
The group introduced the album with “Hey There Sunshine,” which debuted at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards, followed by “Over and Over,” “Sucker For A Sad Song” and the piano-driven “We Could Have It All.” Other highlights include the relationship-worn “The Door,” the fiery “It’s Coming Around” and the visceral “The Idea.”
Little Big Town will mark the album’s release with a performance on the TODAY Plaza Sept. 1 as part of the TODAY Citi Concert Series. The group will then take It’s A Dying Art on the road with its For The Art Of It Tour, launching Sept. 24 in St. Petersburg, Fla. Produced by Live Nation, the U.S. and Canada trek includes stops in Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Toronto and other cities.
In December, Little Big Town will return to Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium for a three-night holiday residency. The Christmas Shows will run Dec. 8-10, blending holiday classics with fan favorites from the country vocal powerhouse.
