Gabby Barrett is learning to embrace the unexpected. The multi-Platinum Country star returns with “Every Minute Of It,” a radiant new track that trades in control for surrender, celebrating the twists, turns and surprises that make life worth living. Released Sept. 4 via Warner Records Nashville, the song puts Barrett’s soaring vocals at the center of an uplifting Country-Pop production. Written by Emily Weisband, James McNair, Seth Mosley, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, “Every Minute Of It” captures Barrett reflecting on the difference between the life we plan and the life that ultimately unfolds. “This song is really about letting go of the way you thought life was supposed to look and learning to embrace what’s right in front of you,” Barrett says. “So much of life doesn’t go according to plan, and sometimes the things you never saw coming end up being the greatest gifts.”

Produced by longtime collaborator Ross Copperman, the track pairs warm guitars from Ilya Toshinskiy and Rob McNelley with a subtle ticking rhythm that reinforces its central message: Time keeps moving, so why not make the most of it? Barrett brings a vulnerable touch to the verses before opening up into a soaring chorus built around the idea of finding joy in both the highs and lows.
The release follows Barrett’s recent run of new music, including “In On It,” “The Easy Part” and “Ain’t Supposed To Be,” all of which point toward the next chapter of her artistry. In a recent interview with Country Now, Barrett described her goal for the forthcoming music as creating songs that make listeners “laugh,” “think” and “feel something.” That philosophy is on full display with “Every Minute Of It,” a song less concerned with having all the answers than with appreciating the journey.
Barrett is also keeping busy on the road. Following a summer run supporting Parker McCollum, she is set for the Music City Kickoff Concert in Nashville alongside Lee Brice and Payton Smith, followed by an appearance on CBS’ “AMERICA’S TAILGATE,” where she’ll perform alongside Chase Rice, John Legend and Sheryl Crow. With more headline dates ahead, Barrett continues to build on a catalog that includes the 9X-Platinum “I Hope” and 5X-Platinum “The Good Ones.” Now, with “Every Minute Of It,” she offers something equally personal: a reminder to stop fighting the unpredictability of life and simply enjoy the ride.
