Thirty years after introducing one of Country music’s most unmistakable voices, Trace Adkins is turning back the clock and putting a landmark debut on vinyl for the first time.
The multi-Platinum entertainer has announced Dreamin’ Out Loud: 30th Anniversary, a special-edition reissue of his chart-topping 1996 debut, arriving Oct. 16 via Capitol Records Nashville/UMe. The anniversary release will be available on vinyl and CD, with fans able to preorder now.
Released in June 1996, Dreamin’ Out Loud immediately established Adkins as a formidable new force; pairing traditional Country roots with the larger-than-life personality and commanding baritone that would become his trademark.

The Platinum-certified album delivered a string of early career-defining hits, including his first No. 1, “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” Gold-certified smash “Every Light In The House,” which reached the Top 3 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, and “I Left Something Turned On At Home,” a No. 2 hit. The album also featured “There’s a Girl in Texas,” a Top 20 hit, while Dreamin’ Out Loud reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart and the Top 10 on Top Country Albums. Its success helped propel Adkins to the 1997 Academy of Country Music Awards, where he took home Top New Male Vocalist honors.
Now, three decades later, Dreamin’ Out Loud: 30th Anniversary gives the classic collection a fresh chapter. The original 10-song track list remains intact, joined by a special bonus version of “Every Light In The House,” recorded live in Nashville in 2021. The celebration arrives as Adkins continues a milestone year that underscores just how far that 1996 debut carried him. With 40 Country radio hits and more than 12 million albums sold, the Louisiana native remains one of the genre’s most enduring stars. And he’s still making headlines beyond music. Adkins recently sat down with Theo Von for a wide-ranging appearance on This Past Weekend, opening up about his blue-collar upbringing, his career, his marriage to actress Victoria Pratt, officiated by Blake Shelton, and plenty of the larger-than-life stories that have made him a fan favorite for three decades.
From Country radio to Hollywood, Adkins has built a career that refuses to stay in one lane. His film and television credits include Deepwater Horizon, King of the Hill, Day of Reckoning and I Can Only Imagine 2, while his philanthropic work has helped raise millions in support of injured post-9/11 veterans. The anniversary edition arrives Oct. 16. For longtime fans, it’s a chance to own a piece of Country history on vinyl. For a new generation, it’s an introduction to where one of the genre’s biggest voices began.
