Ian Munsick is continuing his ascent as one of country music's most distinctive voices, unveiling the genre-bending new track "Medicine Man" as the latest preview of his highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Mountain Goat, arriving August 21.
The Wyoming native has built his career by refusing to follow convention, and "Medicine Man" reinforces that philosophy. Penned by Munsick alongside Mike Robinson, Jeremy Spillman and Ryan Beaver, the song trades traditional heartbreak for healing, offering love as the ultimate remedy for emotional wounds. "'Medicine Man' is unlike any song I've released," Munsick shared. "It has a psychedelic, beachy, deserty, '70s, Eagles meets Fleetwood Mac meets me kind of vibe to it. It's one of my favorites from The Mountain Goat and I'm confident it will be one of yours too."
That fearless creative approach has become Munsick's calling card. While rooted in Western storytelling, "Medicine Man" stretches into sun-soaked rock influences and vintage harmonies without losing the authenticity that has made the singer-songwriter one of country's most compelling innovators.
The release follows Munsick's current single, "Love Is Blind," which continues its climb through the Top 50 at country radio. Its official music video, featuring fellow Wyoming artist Ryan Charles alongside members of Munsick's Rocky Mountain Fever band; further showcases the camaraderie and Western spirit that have become synonymous with his brand.

Spanning 15 tracks, The Mountain Goat marks a major milestone as Munsick's first independent release through WEST TO THE REST RECORDS in partnership with Triple Tigers Records. Co-produced by Munsick, Jeremy Spillman and Mike Robinson, the project also highlights the artist's impressive musicianship. Across the album, Munsick plays nine instruments—including acoustic and electric guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, piano, bouzouki and even kazoo, while also contributing programming and background vocals.
Beyond the music, Munsick is expanding his Western empire in a big way. Album release week will feature a special run of performances across the West, culminating in an official release concert at Deer Valley Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater in Park City, Utah, on August 22 as part of the Deer Valley Concert Series.
Fans will also see the launch of Munsick's collaboration with legendary Western apparel brand Schaefer Outfitter, featuring custom pearl snap shirts, hats, outerwear and graphic tees inspired by the singer's signature style. The expansion continues this fall when Munsick opens the Ian Munsick Cowboy Bar & Western Grill inside the historic Landmark Hotel & Casino in Deadwood, South Dakota. Designed as a celebration of classic country and Western culture, the venue will feature traditional honky-tonk décor along with indoor and outdoor performance stages dedicated to live music.
With more than one billion career streams, Platinum and Gold-certified hits, and history already made as the first Wyoming-born artist to headline Cheyenne Frontier Days, Munsick continues proving that the future of country music doesn't have to leave its roots behind. If "Medicine Man" is any indication, The Mountain Goat may be his boldest—and most adventurous—statement yet.
