Kenny Chesney is inviting fans behind the curtain of his next creative chapter. The country superstar will return to TalkShopLive on July 30 at 7 p.m. EDT/4 p.m. PDT for his first in-depth conversation centered on his forthcoming album, Silver Sands Marina, giving No Shoes Nation an inside look at the stories, inspirations and pivotal life moments that shaped the project.
The livestream follows a whirlwind period for Chesney, who has continued to redefine his career with a landmark Country Music Hall of Fame induction, two acclaimed Sphere residencies, and a New York Times No. 1 nonfiction bestseller. Yet, despite the accolades, the eight-time Entertainer of the Year remains focused on what has always driven him: the music.

That passion is already resonating with fans. Chesney's latest single, "Carry On," marked a major milestone as the debut release from his independent imprint, HEY NOW Records, becoming just the third song in country radio history—and the first from an independent label—to secure adds across the entire reporting panel during its release week. "People thought it was crazy when we made the moves we made," Chesney said. "But I knew I wanted to color outside the lines, create an album that was about the music, how it feels and what it's saying... and everything about it has felt right."
That creative freedom ultimately shaped Silver Sands Marina, a collection that blends country, rock and reflective storytelling while exploring life's turning points, resilience and the joy of embracing every chapter—even the difficult ones. The album's final tracklist continued evolving until the very end, with Chesney adding three songs after believing the record was already complete.
During the TalkShopLive event, the East Tennessee native plans to unpack that creative process in detail, reflecting on his roots as a songwriter at Acuff-Rose Music and his early days performing for tips on Nashville's Lower Broadway. The conversation promises to explore not only individual songs but how they work together to tell a larger story—an approach that has long defined Chesney's albums. "In a world where it's all about the algorithm, I want to believe there's still room for a kid with a guitar, songs in their heart and a bunch of friends who want to chase it with them," Chesney shared. "To me, how I got here was a lot of fun... and I want to pass that on."
Fans tuning into the livestream will also have access to exclusive merchandise, including a limited-edition signed picture disc, along with signed vinyl and CD editions of Silver Sands Marina, available only through TalkShopLive. The appearance marks Chesney's second collaboration with the livestream platform after previously discussing his memoir Heart Life Music. That experience, he says, convinced him the format offers something increasingly rare: the chance for genuine conversation. "When they invited me back on—because of the way they heard this music—I was all in," Chesney said. "A lot went into making Silver Sands Marina, wanting to create something that was authentic. It's country. It rocks. It's philosophical in places. But every single song takes you somewhere. TalkShopLive lets us dig into all of it, and I love that." For an artist entering a bold new independent era, the event offers fans more than an album preview—it provides a front-row seat to the creative philosophy behind one of country music's most enduring storytellers.
